when should i change my seals

when should i change my seals

lately my rx7 has been acting kinda funky... i dont know if its just because its cold out but i think my seals are getting to the point where i have to change them but just to make sure its not something easely fixed i thought i should ask some people who have gone through this kinda stuff before... so if anyone can help that would be awesome

You can do a compression check to see if your seals are going, thats about the only way, except for failure of course.

ok when i go to start up the car its fine it has gas and its getting to the engine but when i step on the gas and give power to the wheels the engine revs up and then dies but i also did a compression test like 3 weeks ago and it was around 55 psi

Revs up and then dies.

Can you elaborate? Does it die instantly, sputter for a second and then die?

Describe the symptom a little better.

55 psi???? Yeah, you need a rebuild.

when i let go of the clutch and press on the gas it moves the car alittle bit then it dies so it has enough power to get the car moving alittle but after i get it to start moving it feels like car is running out of gas because it speeds up alittle and slowes down and then dies but i know its not gas cause it has almost a full tank also another thing to put into perspective is that it was also -9 degrees outside so i dont know how much the weather had to do with the cars performence
