I'd want to get used to the Autocross before taking out the FD. Making a fool out of myself in the FB wouldn't be as bad as doing the same in the FD. Heh. I think I am going to go watch an event or two to see what it's like. It'd be only $14 to compete being active duty enlisted, woot!
I just started this year in my FD. The only trick is that if you go around a low speed corner (a real slow/tight corner), you can dip below where you get good boost, and for a split second you get slow acceleration then a whoosh of boost. You can run some fairly fast times without going WOT out of every corner. I know I leave a lot of time out there between the corners, but I've taken a tremendous amount of time off just by focusing on maintaining corner speed and a good line.

I have 2 events under my belt and already I feel like I have decent control of the throttle. I have a tremendous amount to learn, but it's all good. Finally this weekend I'll have some instruction. (Running 2nd heat means nobody's available to ride along).
