wheels for my '79

i was in a local shop call Auto Werx today looking for some wheels for my '79. the guy looked through a catalog, called a few places and only found one rim that was made in 4-110. it was Kosei K-1 Racing. heres a pic:

do you guys know of any other rims that would fit and what the biggest size i could fit on there? i was thinking maybe 16's or 17's. what i was really looking for was a rim where the spokes curved inward, kind of like this:

the rim in that picture is a Velox VX8r

so can you guys help me out? are there any other rims in that style that will fit my car? and if not, any other rims at all? i really dont want to be limited to only one kind. thanks.

no, there's basically nothing available for the non- gsl-se first generations, except for the kosei k-1. 16's and 17's are kind of big for the sa/ fb. 15's are a good size, but still, you won't find any bling wheels for the rex. If you really wanted to put bling wheels on, you could do a suspension swap, or buy hub adapters.

i didnt see anything in the faq, but i searched for "wheels" before i posted this. i dont know why i didnt search for "rims", but i just did and found out that other than kosei, theres really nothing else. i wasnt looking for bling wheels, just something that looked good. other than the wheels, im trying to keep the exterior as stock looking as possible. thats why im not looking for anything real flashy. but i guess ill just stick with the k-1 if theres nothing else.

You can get panasports, The keep the old school look. Also BBS style, But Those you have to find used.

Best way is to get what you want as a blank and then have it drilled to the correct pattern. Make sure the spacing is correct first.

both the kose's and velox are lightweight rims btw. i'd get the kosei or velox in a heartbeat since it's decentely priced.

I'd have to imagine to get them drilled for the proper wheel could be costly. One of my friends has an older model Tiburon and he needed the rear wheels drilled out because the rear hubs were bigger than what the rims could handle, I think it was an extra $50 per wheel.

I still have to find a place to do it, not to mention someone who sells blank rims
