Wheel fitment difference 79-83, 84-85

Probably been asked before but searched and couldn't find the answer. What is the difference between the years as far as aftermarket wheels? Whenever I look they always say fits 79-83, nothing about 84-85. Will they not work on the 84-85? I would hate to buy some and they not fit my 85 gs.

79-85 wheels are all the same with a 4x110 pattern and are all 13".

the 83 LE came with 14" wheels but it was also a 4x110 bolt pattern.

the only exception to the 79-85 4x110 wheel pattern is the GSL-SE which uses a 4x114 pattern and a 14" wheel from the factory

Thank you for the quick response but why would they specify 79-83? I know the bolt pattern is the same 79-85 except for -se so is there another difference? I can't think of the name but the center of the rim between the lug holes, maybe smaller on the 79-83 so the wheel center wont clear on the 84-85?
Edit
I just want to make sure before I order. Thank you all for the quick info.

I bet you're looking at Australian websites. In Oz (probably Japan, possibly elsewhere) ALL Series 3 had what we know as GSL-SE suspension.

If you don't have GSL-SE bits, then yes, everything that fits '79-83 also fits '84-85.

Heck, I don't think anywhere but North America even offered drum brakes after 1980.

The 4 x 110 allows you to run a lower offset compared to the 4 x 114 also. The benefit of course is that there are more wheel choices in 4 x 114 vs 4 x 110.

Well, I went ahead and ordered the Rewinds, 15x7 20 offset with 205/50/15 Falken Ziex ZE-512's. Mount balance, new valve stems and lug bolts and free replacement on the tires down to 3/32nd. $670.00 shipped to my door within 3 days fron Discount Tire Direct. I'll post pics, before and after. I might have some + wheels in good condition with brand new 185/70/13 Yokohama Avid T4's for sale locally, IDK yet.

I've got a set of those same konig rewinds. I've had them on my car, which is an 83 with an 84/85 GSL rear diff.
They will fit fine. I guess they only list them as fitting the 79-83 in order to avoid confusion with the GSL-SE bolt pattern. Oddly enough, they also have listings for the SE, but some of the wheels they show fitting, won't. There's no way a 4 x 100 wheel will fit an SE.....
Hopefully, the lugs are the correct bolt type, rather than just lug nuts. When I odered my rewinds, they told me they didn't have any bolts that would fit. Was fine with me, as my Ronals already had 17mm head lug bolts.

Yes, I have 2 sets of 15 x 7 wheels............. The rewinds don't see much action right now.

BTW, just noticed you are in Ok. What part?

Perkins. Not too far from you.

Hopefully they send the correct lug bolts, the sales rep actually said lug bolts, not nuts.

How did you like the rewinds on the 7?

Do you know of anyone local that does a good job of rebuilding the Nikki? I know people say it is easy, but I would rather have it done, stripped and re-jetted.

They're ok. I really like my 15 x 7 +15 Ronals better. I guess it's just the black vs graphite on a red car. I haven't tried them on for looks on the white GSL, yet. I kinda wish they offered these in SE fitment, but oh well, I got different ones for the SE.
One other reason I like the Ronals better, never seen another FB with them.

Perkins, that's out near Stillwater, isn't it?

Yes, just south of stillwater about 10 miles. How about that rebuild recommendation, anyone around? Really wanting to get the car reliable and on the road!! The car runs but will not idle and the air/fuel mixture screw does nothing when turned, either bottomed out or all the way out, no change.

I've messed with a few of the nikki carbs, but I have no spare parts for them. Anything beyond a basic rebuild is out of my hands. Got lots of stuff for holley carbs, though. Not that it helps.
At one time, a guy in the tulsa area had a sterling carb for sale. Don't know if he sold it, I can try to find out....
FWIW, I'm actually over in Sapulpa.

Are the holley's any good on the 7. If you have a good one that you wanted to sale I would be interested. Sapulpa is only about 40 mins from here.

That would be great on the sterling. That was the route I wanted to go but he isn't doing rebuilds right now.

I can't say about holley's on a rotary. I tried one on my SE, didn't like it, put the edelbrock back on. Haven't tried the 650DP yet....
I'll see if I can contact him, and let you know. The carb was in working order when it came off. The 12A went south, so he undertook a TII swap.

LOL, sorry. I meant the sterling carb was in good order, and that I would try to contact the guy that was trying to sell it. I've sent them a message, and will let you know when/if I find out anything. For all I know, he could have already sold it.

I am reading thru the "Best non-Nikki set-up?" thread and saw your post. Was the GM HEI setup hard to do? I was thinking about the 2nd gen leading coil mod.

It's not hard to do. I didn't wire this one originally. It had been wired wrong, and I had to figure out the problem, and correct it. That was a bit harder than the typical conversion would have been.
That's under the hood of my SE. I've contemplated doing it to another car, but haven't commited. I doubt the 3rd car will see any real mods..... (got 3 FB's)

The sterling carb was local. (to me)

3 FB's?? Must be nice!!!! Good thing about Perkins is that OKC and Tulsa are less than an hour away, so I consider them both local!
