hey all

I was just wondering what kind of suspension setups you guys are running. Hows the ride, performance, and looks of the car?

I was thinking about the future for my car: rb springs, tokico hp shocks, polyurethane bushings, rb sway bars, and adj. lower control arms? How do you think that would work out? Auto-x setups welcome! I plan to auto-x this spring.

post pics too!

It's hard to imagine anything better than the stock setup. Not the ultimate in road-holding, but tons of fun, totally controllable with the tail hanging out, and rides nicely besides. My Miata will out-corner it, but I like the RX more.

Eibach Pro's. Illuminas, ST sway bars and every bushing is poly. It is very stiff and does not lean on the stock tires and wheels, they break loose first. With the widebody and 15" tires and wheels, 225/50/15 front, 245/50/15 rear. The body will lean now, haven't pushed it to see where the break point is yet. I will probably go with a wider and lower profile tire in the rear for more traction and to bring the speedo as close as I can get to accurate. With the Illuminas set at mid-range, I still bottom out occasionaly, even with the rear bump stops cut down 3/4".

You could go with the adjustable camber plates instead of the control arms. Price is similiar if iirc.

My old car has RB springs all around, tokico hp's, no rear sway bar, Racing beat front sway bar, and a CP racing strut tower bar... Im not going to lie, I drove it for about 5 km's loved it but didn't get to really test them out because of MASSIVE rust holes in my bins...

The stance of the car is awesome and the CP racing strut tower bar looks awesome (I bought it used, so I don't have a CP racing horror story to tell) under the hood. Car seemed very tight and fun to drive, but for a daily driver may be a little extreme.

If I may ask, what kind of tires are you using with your setup?

stock setup is nice, i find that once i get springs, bars etc etc, the ride gets worse. which is ok if the car's not a daily, but my last driver was just plain stock and it was fun.

current car (not a daily) has eibach/tokiko illumina/g force panhard, it rides like poop but seems to handle well

Spec 7 susp. package, poly bushing in front end, no rear bar. For the street the ride is stiff and bouncy. For the track it handles ok but could be much stiffer. I am upgrading to front coilovers soon so it will get even stiffer. So if stiff and bouncy don't sound appealing, go with the suspension techniques stuff or maybe Rb, and you'll be fine. BTW, my car is stripped to the bone so much lighter thus much bouncier than stock.
