What's wrong with my 7!

Reaction: .040
60': 2.418
I3: 11.071

E.T. : 17.304 @ 81MPH

Mods : Full RB Exhaust system, No air pump, K&N Filter

I've seen guys with the same setup run 16's no problem on the forum. What am I doing wrong? I launch at 4000RPM and shift at 7500RPM. I don't powershift(not too good for the tranny) but it doesn't take long for me to be in the next gear!

I wanna break the 16's!!!

The weight of your cool sound system?

Hehe, just kidding with ya. I can't help ya here, but good luck getting it down to the 16s.

is the clutch grabbing, or slipping badly on the shifts, that can make a HUGE difference.

the first things i would look toward would be:

clutch, engine and tranny mounts and get a good, complete tuneup

also ... you may try shifting at 7000 instead of 7500

Your miles seem to be kind of low, it should be higher than that especially that you've got exhaust and intake.

On a 12a stock port with mikuni 40, header, stock muffler and launching around 3500rpm i've got:
60': 2.425
1/4: 16.006 @ 87.31

yea I need a tuneup... I am running way too rich..

I feel like putting an 02 sensor on my header and wire it up to a A/F Ratio gauge in my dash... can I grab any O2 sensor off any car or it has to be a specific one? how do I install it? I could always go to the dyno and tune it on a wideband sensor but it's 170$/hour for the dyno so that hurts

I assume you have a GSL-SE because you said that you've removed the air pump. On some cars it would actually make them run rich if you remove it, not sure about your car though.

Shouldn't you already have an O2 sensor if it's fuel injected? If so you might need to just replace it because a bad one will make it run richer also.

look at where your rpms are as you pass throught the gate, you want to be at hight rmps, possibly eliminating one gear shift.
