What's this part?
While taking off the intake manifold (1981), I broke a part and it needs replacing but I've only got a few clues as to the name of the part and where its replacement can be found. Pictures below, part circled in red.
The part whose name I do not know, but need to know is circled in red.
A closer look...
The unknown part taken out. It came out with a 21mm socket.

Thanks. I did find the replacement part on Atkins Rotary but it's currently unavailable. What do you think about this part as a replacement?

Come to think of it, it’s an altitude compensator valve. Not PCV. … here is theFSM that describes its operation. If you are not having drastic elevation changes perhaps it could be abandoned.

The plastic cap on those is notorious for becoming brittle and breaking off, usually still in the vacuum hose that attaches to it. I've heard of guys just plugging them off. I have fixed a couple of them as described above.
As is, the ID of the hole is just about the right size to tap it for 1/4-28 UNF or 1/16-27 NPT threads. You could also just epoxy a straight piece of small tube in there.
You don't need to be a machinist to fix these old cars, but it does help!
