There we really way too many screws holding the dask on!! at least 30 hidden ones you dont need My wait is for my licence to come back.. I hope to get some rims and suspension on this 1st gen by then.. and fix up the rear end a bit... ill try and get some pics up soon! Anyways thats me now.. what u doing?

Well I'm trying to finish my complete 89 motor engine swap into my 85 GS.... Now I'm trying to figure out the last bit of wiring. Also waiting for parts.

My engine and transmission comes in on monday!

my 83 S is getting a 84 GSL rear end (rear only has 91k on it) tokico blues, eibach pro kit springs, engergy suspension bushings, stainless steel braided brake lines, new brake master, air oil cooler setup, black magic fan, and hopefully I'll rebuild the engine and put a new clutch in it, theres a big maybe on that one, but I have most of the suspension stuff, and I have the whole oil cooler setup, as well as the fan. Oh yea, it needs some minor body work and a paintjob too, **** I'm gonna be busy.

My '79 sits under a cover, awaiting a donated or very cheap 12A or 13B to go in.... until then.... or spring, when it's warm enough to work on...

Slowly ripping out the interior of my '79 for next autox season...also replacing broken and worn out parts

Just recently i took out the dead fuel pump, boy what a mess...had both lines clamped shut but gas still spilled everywhere, probably not very safe lol

Next season i'm planning to get some nice R-comps and see how competetive I can be in stock class
bcty, if u come to boundary bay to autox we can race our 79's head to head

Did you mean that by stripping the interior it became a race car?

Or

Did you mean that it's going to be a race car, so the first step was removing the interior?

ill chime in. right now im at school, so my rx7 is just sitting innocently at home, unaware of the terror i have planned for it. i get home on the 17th (these tuesday), and on wednesday the destruction begins.
i really want to start with the suspensin so when the motor is in i can just drive it. im removing the entire old suspension, brake to brake, front and back. i have a 84 gsl-se full suspension sitting at home, with only 64k on it. i will be replacing the stock springs with the rb set.
after thats on im gonna throw on the new shoes, a set of 15 " bronze volk te37's with bridgestone re190s(tires will be replaced soon, i know they suck) 215's.
then comes the really fun part!! swaping motors (yeah!). i know its going to be hell so i try and be as pessimistic as possible. i have a 91 jspec t2 with 19k on the motor (this thing is super clean, best jspec i have seen). i still have to get injectors but i got the 255/hr. walboro fuel pump yesterday. i havent picked up injectors yet, thats next on my list. im removing all accesories (ill probably keep the power steering, im sick of fighting with that damn non-power steering system). controlling all the madness is my wolf 3d ecu. i would like to get a fmic before i start running the car, because i dont want to cut a whole in my hood (even though i know thats not 100% neccesary, but stupid not to do in my opinion if you are running a tmic).
my t2 tranny just arrived today, so that will be going in the same time as the engine.
after that the interior gets redone. so far all i have bought is a dashboard, but i want to get some new seats (some t2 seats preferably, or i might just wait and go aftermarket). then maybe by the summer i will get the radio. too me, the interior really isnt that big of a deal, but maybe if this setup goes clean enough i can show this car and race, to represent for the first gens out there.
lastly a new paint job. currently its white, which i like, but i would really like to get like a pearl white paint job (sorta like the last gen preludes white) or paint it the silver that r1 3rd gens came in. i saw a silver 3rd gen with bronze advans in scc a while back, and the combo was incredible.
so i havent even started and i am stressed, but its all about drive (or driving in this case). i didnt have and dont have a HUGE budget, but i have the luxury of getting to keep what i earn because my parents are fully paying for my education. i also have alot of money coming in right now, being that my birthday just passed and christmas is coming up. my mom got me the tranny for bday and my dad is getting me the rims for christmas. i also put the ecu on a friends credit card, which has no interest until may. other than that, the cost isnt too ridiculous, and hopefully its worth it.
summer plans also are a port job (not sure what kind) and a big *** turbo. thats all, thanks for letting me vent.

Well, since the funds arn't quite there yet for the 12at project, I'm just going to fix the leaking sunroof. It rains quite a bit in Oregon in the winter, and I'm tierd of having a wet seat when I get in it in the morning

you know if i were to start over i would get a jspec 12at too i think, because it seems like it would bolt in easier. only problem is that it doesnt seem like anyone has done it around here so finding help might be hard. but at least that way you could say you kept the 12a, and maybe spank some 13bt's on the way.

I'm getting the parts together for a 13 turbo setup in my 1982 Mariah... The brand new turbo is the first part I got (very usefull: turbo but no engine...)
The TII shortblock got a bit of delay, but should be here sometime in januar I hope...
During the time I'm waiting for the block, I'll tear apart the FC, which is already close to naked...
Since my car has been at the paintshop for 5 weeks, and still isn't ready, I can't go on very much right now...
They keep promising it'll be ready "next week"...
But I really need the car: the interior must be stripped, rear seat permanently removed, battery relocated, doorpanels etc have to re-trimmed... Plenty of work to do. Also on the plan is a set of new rear tires... those 255 start looking like slicks But I don't want to spend the money on such expensive tires, right now.
Obviously: work enough right now!
Actually, I just took a break from taking apart the FC wiring harness, that 'll be used to wire in the ECU and some smaller thingies...

trying to score either my buddies gsl-se which he promised to sell me but is now backing out of, he fell in love with the car and his 68 stang blew the motor
or convince my dad to use the money from the first gsl-se (2500) for another one

I bought my 83 gsl really for drag racing purposes, mainly track and MAYBE once in awhile street. Im about to score a 600 holley and RB intake from my cousin for @$100. Then later on when I have some more funds hes gonna streetport/rebuild the engine for me. After that a RB header, pre-silencer, and Stainless muffler are next on the list. And maybe some wheels or better tires. I hope to have all this done before the summer hits and the racing season starts. I was gonna to get some body work done on the car first before everything else(faded paint and dings), but Id rather have the car be fast first then look good. I think it also helps give it a sleeper look. When I seldom take it to "The Pike"(the racing/crusing/chillin spot in CT) I want the 5.0's that be there to just demise me completely when I pull up next to them and be blown away when Im still hanging with or possibly going by them.

Taking the leaky 12a (oil leak at a dowel seal) out of the '83 GSL, swapping in the less leaky 12a from my '82. Start rebuilding and porting the '83 motor or maybe the '84 motor that I'll be getting at the end of this month. Remove air pump, rats nest, etc since we don't have pollution control down here yet except the cat has to stay on since they do make sure you have a full exhaust (cat is already punched). Get the interior of the '83 put back together. Touchup the paint, get some new tires, get it licenses and on the road then I'll start looking at other things like better suspension, exhaust, electric fan, a sidedraft carb. I also want to work on getting a small audio system put into the car with a custom flat panel screen and dvd/vcd/mp3 player and maybe even my dreamcast for some Crazi Taxi 1 & 2 and SegaGT game play while I'm parked (of course ).
I'll be doing the whole custom audio setup first since I'm pretty good with electronics and can do it cheaper than most systems already made out there on the market today.

I'm looking for a job. The 7 isn't getting so much as an oil change until that happens...
