Whats the best midrange/tweeter setup in series 3?

The "custom speakers" the chick said were in my new SE also seem to have been custom-blown too, as their midrange and bass response sounds like a pice of paper being driven by a .1 oz magnet.

So heres what i'm thinking. To begin with, i have a seperate amp for the front and seperate amp for the rear channels, both can handle 40 watts nominal, 80 peak. (like that means something).

How would these speakers up front:

and these speakers back rear:
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...FCP603&o=m&a=1

I picked those out because they were the cheapest, biggest, and highest decibal rating overall (the price was the main determining factor).

So what do you think, i'm going for absolute midrange and high end response, maybe just a LITTLE bass (what the subwoofers wont catch).

THe subs are plenty big, so dont worry one incling about bass response. Thats taken care of.

Peace

Geoff

Dude, go with Boston or JL speakers! I used to work for the Good Guys, and the bostons are the best hands down and the JL's are hands down the Best for the Money. dont go infinity, they sound great but blow very easily. Polk audio are also very good.

does boston or JL even make car audio? they arent listed on sounddomain, etronics, or crutchfield...

My buddy used to have a set of bostons for his computer.

Those 2" woofers produced some of the most amazing sound, together w/ a single 6" boston sub could rattle his house.

Apart from JL or boston, what do you guys reccomend, whats your dream speaks?

In my vert I have a set of A series Alpine DDD 6 1/2 and tweet components, I wouldnt trade them for anything, but they are about $500/pr.

If you want an awesome speaker, get some MB Quarts. Those things were awesome. But Boston or JL Audio, would be a good speaker to get. Although I dont htink JL components were that good, their subs were nice, but the components left something to be desired, unless they were XR's, but those were EXPENSIVE..

Boston makes some of the best Car audio on the market. Boston subs are by far the sweetest sounding base response I have ever heard.

JL Makes fantastic speakers, specificaly there 6x9's
I have them in my 85 rex in boxes running off of deck power, and who the hell needs subs, these things shake my mirrors rather nicely. and since there in boxes I can take them out for race day. they also have a very solid mid range and with one of the only true 3 way 6x9's on the market they have an amazing high end
