Nice, now why couldnt mine smoke that little?

It musta looked like a large brush fire when i did it.

Oh yeah, and i was asked to leave my neighborhood after i had started mine. I guess people just dont appreciate, the pains i go through to make a Mt. St. Helens demonstration.

Everyones a critic

Last time that I did it, I shut down a major road (you couldn't see through the smoke to drive through it),, and shut down the enitre golf course across the street - getting them to call the cops! Cops couldn't do anything about it since it was on private property. Of course, I had to do it on a clear Sat morning, when all the golfers were lined up to play. It also helps that it was open headers at the time. :-) I turned it off right before the cops got there. :-)

Hey, nice color...I don't see that often.
How much spooge didja put in der? It does'nt look like you put enough in! At least one bystander is supposed to puke, cough, and collapse!:P

The ATF treatment is'nt usually something you'll see a giagantic difference in unless you just aquired a really neglected, "tuned way too rich for way too long" rx-7. Even still, you may have to do it again to get full benifit, so save the shitty plugs for when you do it.

BTW, you can dump as much atf as you want in the engine, it won't hurt it. Just pour it in the carb and turn the motor over a couple times to circulate it, then let it sit overnight. The rotary shops recommend you do it every 20k or so, to free the motor of carbon buildup. Be sure to do it on some crappy plugs or right before you replace them. Its actually a handy trick for piston motors, too.

Remember, this stuff works because of the detergents in it. But when it burns, it creates crap just like any other oil. It does'nt get baked back on to your rotors, but it will accumulate in your $1200 sniff-safe exhaust system.
IE, alot of it would be best for the engine, but probably worse for the cats.

This is speculation on my part.

Im not totally convinced ATF does a DAMN thing.. I have had a 12A completely apart and soaking in ATF , it did absolutely nothing to the carbon deposits.. Only thing that worked was Kerosene and a shitload of scrubbing...

Only thing I can see ATF doing is 1) starting a carbon locked motor and 2) keeping the motor goo'ey inside so it wont rust up when sitting long periods

Well I used the ATF to get my rebuilt motor to start, and it did seem to help it a bit, couldn't say on what it would do to a motor with some good miles on it.

But oh man if you think thats a smoke cloud... Pheeew, when I did it there was so much smoke that like two houses disapeared into the white cloud. ANd it was not windy at all so it took quite a while for the smoke to clear. Luckily no one was out, it was pretty late. I just hoped that no one had their windows open!

Next time I'm doing it during the day just to get a reaction!
