What year fc is best for aftermarket

I noticed people on marketplace saying things like s4 and s5 to specify different versions of the fc, i was wondering which would be the best to go with and like what year, i want to get a whole rear end like axle, differential, everything. I really want front and rear suspension setups.

You're wanting to swap front and rear subframes from an FC into an FB, is that your question?

This is going to require a ton of fabrication and time/money. Unless you're dead set on modifying an FB chassis to behave like an FC would, I would swap platforms.

Here's a few threads to get you started:

Holy moly thats alot to do, but im still pretty set on it just cause the fb was cheaper to buy and i like the way it looks anyway, and i can get the fc subframes pretty cheap from partouts from what ive seen.

welcome to the board.

so your mind is pretty made up.

then, in the vein of your original question ....

for the parts you mentioned, there are minor differences between the suspension components, but nothing that i think would affect your plans. as far as i know, the subframes themselves are the same. there's just some differences in some of the things attached to them. do not consider the things i say as a complete list, it's not. i'm just giving examples.

- S4 front control arms have removable ball joints where S5 (as i understand it) do not
- S5 cars use Torsen type differentials
- there was a 4-lug model in the S4 cars
- sway bar links are a different design; S4 cars allow you to change the bushings

things like that.
