Ok... S4 = 1986 to 1988. N/A applies with what I said before, except not turbo

S5 = 1989-1991.

It is my opinion that the S4's are better in many ways, others can argue for or against this if they'd like, that's just my opinion.

Search, it's been covered

I just find the s4 more bulletproof than the s5, and less things, from what I've read/heard, go wrong.

With modding the s4 works out better, too, and especially if you're going to port the motor eventually.

HOWEVER, if you're never going to do a single thing to the car, keep it completely stock, then it's a toss up imo.

s5.. better engine, better electronics, better brakes, bodywork............... everyone says 's4's are better cuz they are lighter weight' well, when both cars are striped, the difference ends up being only 30lbs says Grassroot motorsport. But i guess thats only important if your going to make a race car. I think s5's have a bigger fuel tank, too.

Weight is not the only thing, this has been discussed a lot.

well, i like the 89 T2 ^_^

first T2 for S5s... power everything....
and i like the driving/signal lights in front.... of course the cool tail lights in the back.....
and to me... the same color strip in the exterior makes the car look "younger" if u know what i mean

and hey, T2s are reliable too =) just need to know how to take care of it (i treat it better than my girlfriend)

hope she doesn't read this....

See that is the problem with threads like this... everyone votes for what they own or would like to own.

There is already a poll on this very thing. Please search for it. This thread is closed.
