What is wrong with my 1985 RX7 GSL 12A CARBURETED

My car act as though it was not getting enough gas after the choke went off. I have to open/increase the Carb to keep it running. I thought maybe the fuel filter was stop up. After changing the fuel filter I got the same behavior. Then I thought maybe the fuel pump was failing after the running a few minutes. So, I installed a new fuel pump with the same results. Then I took an air pump to the Carb hoping to open it up with the same results. I'm at wits-end with what could be wrong with this car? Please help me!

Do some diagnoses instead of parts swapping, it will save you money. Is the psi correct to the carb? Does it flow the right rate? If these are good, then its all in the carb. You may need to pull it and clean it up and rebuild it. Do not use the new needle or seats from the rebuild and do mess with the floats.

Thank you t g! When I tear apart CARB, what am I'm looking for to clean? Did you mean don't fool with or replace the floats?

Before you tear the carb apart, you will want to check for any vacuum leaks. Vacuum leaks will cause rough engine idling and stalling in some cases.
