Thumbs up what wires to buy

i was looking at the racing beat wires they sell but found cheaper ones and was wondering what kind of spark plug i need to use with these but are they just as good as racing beat????????

http://cgi.aol.ebay.com/ebaymotors/w...category=33692

the racing beat say you need certain plugs "we recommend the use of resistor spark plugs with our ULTRA 8mm Street Ignition Wires."<-- thats with the wires with sheilds... with normal street wire without sheilds says "To obtain maximum power gains from our ULTRA 8mm Race Ignition Wires, we recommend the use of non-resistor spark plugs.".......so what about the ebay wires??

plugs/wires

Use the standard ngk's that your vehicle calls for. As far as the wires the 300+
accel thundersports are outstanding and less than the taylors. part# 7930, they
come in blue, red and black i believe, only have 50ohms of resistance oer foot and
the fit is excellent. rx7doctor

Ignition wires

I got mine thru the local napa who said they get them thru a place called speed
warehouse. Just need to find someone that sells accel wires and they can hook you up. Worth every penny for them rx7doctor

I bought a nice set of the red Accel 300+ wires at a local junkyard for $5.

They're 150 ohms/foot btw.

That's great at the 1 volt or whatever your VOM puts out to test resistance. It's a different story at the tens of thousands of volts an ignition system commonly runs at. Accel is supposed to be decent though.

Actually Jeff, Accel prints "150 ohms/ft" right on the wires.

So you didn't actually check them with a VOM? For shame.

If you wish to become opinionated about spark plug wires like I am, just check out the Magnecor website and look for the key words: skin effect.

I'm familiar with skin effect as well as diode effect from my years in high-end audio.
My preamp features internal wiring that I made myself from solid-core LCOFC wire with paper insulation.

Red Magnacore 10.5MM.
75 bucks, but 7 years after I bought them, they still OHM out the same as when they were new. Dont forget the dielectric grease in the boots, especially if your MSD direct firing.
