What is what Mazda calls a "Valve Diaphragm?"
I was going through some of my parts stock today and came across a new, still in its original Mazda box, part number 1480-13-130A Valve Diaphragm. I must have picked it up when during my many parts and car transfers over the years.
I looked online at this site http://www.jimellismazdaparts.com/sh...ssembly=295967 and down at the bottom it is referenced as 13130I and it looks from the picture that it sets near the carb under the intake filer. I just have no clue what it does! Can anyone fill me in? Thanks!

If thats the 13130I in the picture that you are refering to, then thats the shutter valve. It's purpose is to restrict airflow and reduce efficiency.

yup - thats it! I just thought there had to be some sort of better name to it that describes its function. Id like to put it on ebay or something to get rid of it. looks as though I could make a few bucks if someones doing a rebuild.
