What type of cap and rotor does Black Dragon sell?

I remember reading that it's better to get Mazda OEM distributor cap and rotor because they have brass points versus aluminum found in most regular auto parts stores. I'm wondering if Black Dragon Auto sells the cap and rotors with brass points or if they are also aluminum.

I personally have not bought the ones from Balck dragon. I however have used the ones with the aluminum contacts for the past 20 years with no problems. I don't believe that the OEM ones are brass either. Most of the OEM ones that come from the factory on cars have been aluminum.

You could call Black Dragon and ask them what they carry. My guess is that they are aluminum contacts also.

I believe(don't quote me) that all the dist rotors have brass contacts, but the caps have the aluminum.

Ah, thanks. I'm trying to remember where I read that from, but I know it said something about using OEM cap and rotor because one, or both, of them had a different kind of metal used for better longevity.

Price out Napa first. They have better quality and if you have a AAA membership card you get a discount.

Just checked AutoZones pricing. Their generic ones are about the same cost as the OEM mazda one. Napa's generic brand(MPE) is about $20.00 for both parts.

Sweet, thanks. There's a NAPA store on the other side of town, no biggie.

I would call them first because they probably do not have them in stock.
