They'd be all loosey-goosey, flippin' and floppin', getting all tore up as you drove away from Discount Tirez...
I run generic 185/70/13's on Tweety, the '84 daily driver...

By the numbers a 185/70-13 is 23.2" tall. A 205/60-13 is 22.7" tall. That's a 1/2 difference on the diameter. That means all things being equal, a car with the 205/60-13's will be 1/4" lower and will have a 1/4" more gap between the tire and fender than one with the 185/70-13's. But that's by the numbers. You'll have to go to the actual tire manufacturer specs to find the real numbers for their tires.

Very useful calculation Mr. Slow, I was wondering whether it was an inch or more like a half inch, as you predict. But you are right, you've got to line them up for a specific tire to tell.
The first time I noticed was when my friend Mike and I measured, after a couple beers, the tires on our RX7s, using our lower legs for measuring sticks. It looked like his 205/60-13's were about an inch shorter than my 185/70-13's, although his tires had more miles.
But even that 1/2" gap will catch the eye, if you're an old roofer like me. And having the car 1/4" lower to the ground can make a difference getting in and out to us old folks, not to mention bottoming out on the driveways.
The Mazda engineers knew what they were doing when they went with the 185/70/13's on the stock and slightly modified cars.

Get them on the buggy? And what do you mean by stock snow tires, did RX-7's come stock with Pirelli snow tires whne they were for sale in the winter months?
I think these are NOS tires, cause they're brand new, but I cant find any info on them , and they're not on Pirellis site.
Heres another shot of them.

I run Michelin XM1 185/70HR13's as per the tyre placard recommendations.
IMHO 205's are too wide and will increase required steering effort plus may well handle worse on std 5.5" rims... Not to mention your insurance may be void running 205's.
Michelin XM1 185/70HR13's can be run at mazda factory recommended 26psi for ride comfort right upto 51psi. I personally run 35-44psi on the track and 26-30 on the road.
People that go for a ride in my car always comment on how smooth it rides compared to other S1 RX7's they been in before.
It handles well too
1980 Mazda RX7 Vs 911 @ Wakefield Park Pt2
Plus the bonus that Michelin's run quite and have excelent wear rates.
