What should i do with my $1700

I originally had about 2200 bucks, but im going to spend some money repairing a few dents and panels.

THe next step i was thinking of doing was replacing the brakes. Im going with some slotted rotors from lordco and some ceramic high end pads. ON the rear im just going to use the stock drums and some ceramic pads. It should stop me atleast a little better.

Ive already got an intake system ready to be put on and i already have all the nessesary plumbing to do so. It consists of a 600 edelbrock performer series carb, holley fuel pump and regulator. * Some may note that the regulator has three bungs, two outlets and one inlet. Due to the fact that im using an edelbrock, which only has one inlet, the second outlet on the regulator will be used for a mechanical fuel pressure gauge from Autometer previously baught and mounted on the passenger side shock tower.*

I was thinking of ordering some tokico shocks, just the non adjustable blues from ebay for $185 and picking up a set of coil overs from Green Suspensions. They also have a sway bar kit im going to buy. Um...becides that, i dont know what else im going to do. Recarpet the car? fix a couple dash peices? Finally mold that hood scoop, and definatley some good tires. I know i should wait for rims but the stock 13's will do for now, btw, what colour should i paint my rims, i was thinking white. Thanks.

If you're not racing, no need for slotted/drilled rotors.

Ok, that advise is worth $1700. Paypal it to me ASAP.

You won't be able to get anything out of the suspension mods if you don't get better tires.

Buy good tires first, then start working on the suspension.

If you don't have a header and good exhaust putting on any performance carb / intake will be worthless - doesn't matter how much air you can suck in if you can't get it back out of the car again.

Forget about the drilled and slotted rotors, money is better spent on good Hawk brake pads ($75.00 or so - HP4S) and better brake fluid

1.) Tires (205/60-13 Sumitomo HTRs $45/ea or so from Tire Rack or find 5 LE 14" rims and get some 195/60-14 Falken 615s)
2.) Suspension
3.) Header / Exhaust
4.) Carb (and related stuff)

Tire upgrade should be your first performance upgrade.

I would check all your steering, brake, and suspension componets for wear. If those are good, then I would get the tokico blues, rb springs, exhaust, and a weber carb. Then get it tuned and have areally nice overall 7.

Sage advice from a 16-year old...yes, check all your components for wear...tie rods, idler arm, pitman arm, bushings, etc. and make sure they are in good shape before going for performance.

I got the intake and exhaust system already, had that before.
I got 4 tires on the way for 90 dollars a piece, kuhmo escta 210/60r13
The brakes came to a total of 700 dollars because i replaced every single little thing becides the ebrake cable. Thats all high end stuff to, the best i could buy. So thats only 1100 bucks, i still have about 800 left. That makes alot of room for the suspension, the tokico blues are only 200 shipped. I would be using a oem spring because i dont want any lowering at all. I have a set that were free and almost new. I think im going to swap over to the fmoc, and i baught a bran spankin alt. which was another 200 bucks.

All this stuff, and the stock open diff, drum brake POS rear end? Holy hell, a GSL rear would have been the first thing I would have done. If the shocks you have now are in decent shape, the LSD will make more of a handling improvement than shocks that are a little stiffer. Going from that *incredibly* open diff to an LSD transforms these cars. Instantly 100 times more fun to drive.

Haha nice try guys, yeah i already have another rx7 but if you really think, what would that solve. I would end up getting a decent rx7 for 1700 bucks and then i would still have stock brakes that might be in good condition, a engine that MIGHT be in good condition, steering and suspension that might be...you get the point. It wasnt a stupid investment because the parts i replaced on this car, are parts that i would have to replace on the next one.

I ended up doing all the brake work, 1000 dollars in parts alone, including brake sheilds, high performance pads for front and back, new bearings for the front, new rotors, new calipers, new lines in the rear, new master cylinder, new drums, new wheel cylinders and two spring kits.. I painted the rear drums and the calipers.

I spent $80 on some sylvian headlights. Which also included a new head light shroud because the last one was broken from the accident, aswell as a corner light. Btw, the sylvians are amazing, 100x brighter i swear, im done with plain yellow and im into the new white, they arent blue either so that makes me happy.

$50 on custom msd wire kit. Note that if you buy the 4cylinder blue wire helicoil kit its enough to the entire enigne plus the coils. It doesnt come with a 6th wire for the second coil but when you cut the 1st rotor trailing wire it leaves a generous amount left to do the last coil, the kit comes with many extra boots and wire connections.

Three bottles of seafoam $30. BTw, i couldnt find this stuff anywhere, i ended up finding it at NAPA, a place where i never go. I ran some in the oil, gas and straight down the engine as perscribed by Seafoam. It was a 10 minute smokeshow but i did notice that the car runs a little better becides the stupid carb problem im having right now.

4 bran new kuhmo 205-50's $480. THese tires are amazing compared to the last ones i had, these actually keep me on the road haha, i took a corner out in the country that i usually squeel at 100km, now they dont chirp even at 130.

RB intake from Trochoid, $170. Which will complete the intake setup im doing with my edelbrock carb and holley stuff. Fuel pressure guage, holley fuel regulator, transadapt carb spacer, $130.

So the car is coming along nice, ive got all the nessesary stuff to put on the intake and the carb becides an intake gasket which im hoping the old one is fine, if not il make one. Is cork the best for intake gaskets?

I think there is something horribly wrong with my carb right now btw, the car backfires like a mother trucker and both floats are at 85% full.
