What Should I do?

I have a bit of a delema. I have the opportunity to buy a 1982 GS with 69k Two owner miles. The car is just about perfect except for a little tear in the drivers seat and it's leaking oil from the top oil cooler hose where it meets the oil cooler. The problem is that i already own a 1983 GSL with 152K miles. My car isn't perfect, the body's straight, with no rot (except for the doors), though it has an awful paint job, the interior is in good shape though the seats, door panels and rear floor carpet could use to be reupolstered. It runs great though the previous owner let it overheat, so it has the dreaded tension bolt oil leak, among others. So basicaly I can either use the money to start fixing up my '83 (it should cover a new engine and exhaust), or should i buy the '82 and sell my '83? I'm not a mechanic, or a body shop guy, so i can't do much of the work myself, so it'll cost me some pretty good money to get my car to where i want it, but i'll have the satifaction of knowing that i saved it, and that i contributed where i could. The '82 will probably save me quite abit of money over the long run, given its condition, but you never know. I also like that my car is a GSL with the LSD and rear disk brakes, not that i think that i'd miss them much. What should i do? help!

Buy the 82, keep the 83 as a parts car... You say you aren't a mechanic, but is there anything to keep you from learning how to do the work yourself? Its much more fulfilling than taking a car to someone for work and cheaper.

Swap the rear end from the GSL into the GS. Then you have 2 cars, and don't have to go to the junkyard much.

I had thought about that but i think ripping the '83 apart would break my heart.

Buy the 82', drive the 82'. Park the 83' and fix it up yourself, learn how to fix it.
