What is this sensor at the top of my radiator and how do I replace it? It is slowly leaking coolant.

 

I believe those sensors are for low coolent... on my fc the sensors leaking coolent too :|

 

Could be. I do have an idiot light for that feature.

 

yea, coolant level sensor. mine leaked so i got a new one from an fc that does the trick, i just had to trim the sensor stick a bit because it was too long for my radiator.


Now that i look more closely at the picture I am confused. Mine was a hex head with wire coming out the top so you could just unscrew it....yours....confuses me

 

Yours is obviously busted.

 

Yup, guess that means it will be a bitch to get out. Unless there is a trick up someone's sleeve.

If you have a dremel, use a cutting disc to cut a slot. Then use a screwdriver.

 

Can't find another sensor? Plug it with a bolt and ground the cord going to it.

 

I'll start with giving it a little twist tomorrow. They only run about $35 new. Probably alot less at Pick-n-Pull.
