What to run?
I am planning to install a 13b from a GSLSE in my 79.
I just can not decide how i want to put the gas to it.
Mess around with wires and run the stock EFI or a holley set up or a webber side draft.
I am running a mukini on my 12a now and am leaning towards a webber for the 13b.
Opinions?

EX Pres of DFW Drunks
screw the EFI, it's a ton of extra work for less power...
better gas mileage if you get it all in there right, but not as much power as easily.... Just my two cents.

Go EFI if you have the goods.
Carbs are great, lots of charater, but the
They are also a BITCH to tune
The 13b is designed to run the EFI and the EFI is alredy set up to work.
The set up will be simpler and the down time will likly be shorter
Just my $0.02
Best of Luck

GSL-SE 13b - recommend rebuilding it and making it a 4 port. then carb it. More power!!! Easier. I'm telling you this right now.... on a 79- trying to run all the wiring for the SE will be a BITCH!!!
I wouldn't recommend carbing the 6 port 13b.

Got Boost?
I really depends on how adventurous you are. Carbs are cheap, but since you've already got the full -SE, EFI is free. You can't beat that!
Honestly, I'm not much of a carb kind of guy. That, and I'm pretty adventurous. I'd go EFI, and switch to a Mega-squirt. Better power than a carb, simpler than the stock EFI; no AFM to restrict flow, and upgradable.
This is how I see it:
Carb
-Pros:
Good power likely better than the stock EFI
Simple
Cheap
-Cons:
Gas milage
tunablity (for the inexpirenced)
Carbs nature is such that comprimises offten have to be made drivability vs. power.
Stock EFI:
-Pros:
You've got the parts already
plug and chug, no alterations nessasary
Better gas milage
Good power, maybe not as good as a well tuned carb though
-Cons:
Oh the grimlins...
Idle issues
aging EFI equipment
not tuneable in the least.
fairly ancient as far as EFI technology goes
Aftermarket EFI
-Pros:
You've already got the injectors, and the intake to make it work
Best Power - no need to sacrifice power for drivablity, or drivablity for power.
Good gas milage if tuned properly
Fully adjustable, and upgradable
-Cons
More headache with the setup
You've got to get it tuned to make it work right
Potentially not cheap - depends on the ecu you buy.
If you go Megasquirt, you've got to have a good grasp on the concepts of fuel injection, because you've got to make the system, and work the bugs out.

I have been looking at the microtech and the mega squirt.
I am thinking of getting the bad 13b rebuilt with a streetport. Thought about finding a series 4 efi intake set up and going with a mega squirt.
Mazdatrix has the header and carbs to run on a six port.
Any set up I run is money. Just how much up front and how satisified I will be. The 12a is strong so I have some time. I will start the Strut and rear end conversion to the GSLSE. Should go easy since I converted the 79 to 81 a few years ago.
The radiator split on the GTUs this morning so I will cruise to the SCCA in my 79 and think about my next mod.
