I can never remember if it was a factory or a dealer option, but they were available on some S3's. I have one if anyone is interested in buying it.

It was part of a kit made by pacifica, (now out of biz) but a lot of them had that in the late 80's early 90's. Used to see them all the time

Mazda had a part that they dealer installed, that was a 3 piece, there were a few other manufacturers making them at that time too, Pacifica again being one of them.

Actually still think Mazdatrix has 'em

I used to have the 3 piece wraparound lip spoiler that came factory from Mazda as the "Finishline series". I believe that zookeeper has it on his SE.
Fortunately Mariah makes an exact copy and my girlfriend got me it for Xmas.

Here's something i've found out not long ago,, The FC,,
yes, i said the FC rear spoiler from a GXL looks ok and fits the FB,, with a bit of trimming. it looks like the mariah small aero wing. like on Jose Reyes red FB. but it wraps around more. i know this because i've got one in fibreglass.

The main purpose of most wings is to make it easier to reverse the car so you can judge where the back is. I think there out of place on a gen 1, a small spoiler is OK.

Ironically at speed due to the chisel nose the RX-7 needs more front downwards pressure than at the back. Thus if you are serious, a front air spoler is the first prority to improve high speed handling.

Other than looking cool to ricers, a wing is is fairly useless unless you are accelerating above 110 mph.

Yup, dealer spec'd... except that I installed it myself.
