What Mods Have You Gone Through on your Favorite 7?

Steps in Your HP Mods?
Bought my 1st 81 7 w/ stock engine, ground effects, Dino, & ok stereo. Moded the stock carb w/ larger jets & man secondaries. At the same time did RB header, single presilencer & Power Pulse muffler sys.
Engine Rebuilds:
1st engine: 12A street ported w/ Holley, RB intake, springs, sways, Tokikos w/ same head to tail RB exhaust.
2nd engine: 13B street ported w/ Holley 750, RB intake and duel header/exhaust system & RB strut tower brace. Did the IMSA wide body kit w/ HRE wheels (photos coming). Kenwood 5 spkr & Viper.
My other 7 is mostly stock but w/ man sec & RB header to tail system.

What have you gone through?

Dad bought the car in '89 with a motor that over heated so badly that it melted the T-stat.

He dropped in a 13B that lasted for about 6 years; then smoked badly.

Second motor was a 13B 4 port that was street ported by Rotary Reliability and Racing. This motor has been in the car for about 10 years and has over 120,000 miles on it, and it still runs strong. Mikuni 44PPH sidedraft with RB header and presilencer, MSD ignition, three fuel pumps (one for racing, other two for street), and that is basically it for engine performance. He then got Tokico Blues all the way around, 1" lower springs, Riken mesh wheels, the Pacific body kit, got the car repainted, and put in a nice stereo (which I have sinced changed). The car was his daily driver for 13 years, and the car now has 286,xxx thousand on the chassis.

5 engines in 10 years,Ive only blown up 1 of them, the rest were all upgrades in the name of power.
Bought car for 400 bucks with seized 12A,bone stock, trashed car for the most part.

#1.Stock junkyard 12A, no real mods except for K&N and a muffler.Just had to get it driveable. That motor spit an apex after a few months of driving with the leakOdeath.

#2.Stock junkyard 12A,recently rebuilt unknown miles. It got a Yaw carb/intake,MSD direct, full RB exhaust and light flywheel.Nice and responsive, not much torque but about 150hp.

#3.Stock junkyard 13B 4 port. All 12A mods went onto it along with an SE tranny.Unknown miles,it was full of water sitting in an RX-4.It ran like a champ for 2 years, had great torque, still revved like a dirtbike with that carb, about 170hp.

#4.Stock junkyard 87 13BT. I need/want EFI to pass smog more easily and if I go EFI,Im going turbo. From an seemingly good 87 TII,this motor lasted about 6 months before a water seal finally gave up.Got me by smog that year and pushed me to several 13.5 quarters with the stock turbo, about 250hp.

#5.Current setup.Mazdatrix "E" built streetport S5 13BT with TO4B,FMIC,light flywheel,800cc secondaries,14psi.Still smog legal with about 300hp.

All the other mods were made as the engines were upgraded over the years.Steering, braking, suspension, interior and at first a cheap paint job and WW body kit. This last 18 months saw the final stage of the project,a Mariah wide body and a very costly professional lifetime warrantee paint job.Im broke now,but its done.......except that 20B Ive always wanted, stay tuned.

well my mods are gonna look like nothing after steve84GS TII's car, one of the finest examples of a first gen. But anyways my mods are: Aftermarket stereo, with 6 disk cd changer, 2 12" clarion subs, 2 Amps all kinds of stereo goodies. Rebuilt carb, new clutch, new rear brakes. Then I removed rats nest removed my intake manifold shaved out the butterfly (small things count) Full Racing beat exhaust, gonna do mech secondaries sometime... Paint prepping my car right now, shaved antenna, shaving trim, badges, cleaning up all my rust and chips (damn flying rocks) Lots of mods in mind not enough cash coming in at the moment

everything is original except for motor, exhaust, rims and added a tint. What makes it so unique? I have the original mudguards.
