hey do you have any pictures of it? I would like to see it. no mine isn't a 2+2 seater just 2 door 2 seater only.

these are the types of mags I have on the '78

The '85 SE has

I am just curious as to how many '78 --> '80's are left out there Operational.

Do you guys know of a place that makes or has dashes for the '78--> '80 RX-7 the one that has the holes on the right side for the speaker? Preferably not cracked and no dash covers. mine is busted and cracked to you know where and back.

get an electric fan... you're eating a few horses running that clutch fan like that. plus, it's cosmetically nicer.

hey, 85 gsl se, check ebay for dash caps... they're big plastic pieces that you glue on your dash with RTV, it's actually pretty good.

The best thing of the fist of the first generations .... is the Back Fire of the stock 12A engine :-) I just love to Back Fire it and watch the other moterist expresions. really gives you a big laugh knowing that there is nothing wrong with that type of engine backfiring.

it's fun turning the engine off in a large crowded area (most fun around non-mazda enthusiasts) and listening to the gunshot come out of the back. i've actually seen people duck from this

the only one ever made? atkins sells 7 inch superchargers, and you can piece together a efi pretty easily. i'm not trying to get in your face or anything, it's a beautiful car, i'm just curious about the one-offity of it.

lol, I remember when I first got it back on the road after a 1 1/2 year restoration of the drive train. I took it to the mall and reved it to 7,000 RPM and let off the gas. The biggest backfire you have ever heard came from it. This kid runs behind one of those company dumpsters and peeks out. It was so loud it echoed off the building I just sat there and laughed my a** off.

did they ever make an automatic GSL-SE? one of my friends has one with the SE rims and the 13B engine to go with it. just wandering if these were put in or was automatic an option for the GSL-SE.

nice rims! 79/80 LE's. I would buy them except, they wouldn't be original for my car. So the waffle house I stay ;-)

I have and 80 and to your previous post.. I wrecked mine about 5 years ago but in the last five months I'm making amends.. I'm restoring it and repairing this old car I've loved for the last ten years. I love it when I see another Rex on the road.

Amen mezzano! I especially love to see the 78 --> 80 model out there. Where I live I am the only one around that has one within the 78 --> 80 year group. real sad to see. I see laot of the 81 --> 85 models.

I get more excited over the 1st gen. than any other gen. out there personaly

here's a $200 SA-was flooded and my bro used the original engine for appx 1 yr prior to switching to a streetported 12-A with DLIDFS. all original rims, no rips in the interior and etc etc. there is only one ding in the passenger side fender.
