Question What is this LED light for?

There is a small red LED light on the top center of the steering column between my steering wheel and the instrument panel.

What is it? I have never seen it light up (in my whole 3 weeks of ownership).

oh yeah...details:
1985 RX-7 GSL-SE

Thanks
Roger

That's not stock, take the steering column apart and trace the wiring... My guess is that a previous owner added an alarm.

An alarm. That must be it. Thanks. I think it did have an alarm before I owned it.
