I have some videos of it some where, ill keep looking for them.
Absolutly love this system. Mellow low RPM tone, won't garner any attention from Johnny Law, but really awesome sound at high RPM. Downshifts are good fun, and a great bump in torque at about 4500RPM. A little on the expensive side but I won't be replacing mufflers once or twice a year.

Homemade header colects into 2½" single pipe - into a cheap short resonator - then spreads out into two parallel stainless rear mufflers.

Yes, I know it has a bad OCR o-ring

I just got a ticket for under equipted exhaust.

I have a RB header collected into a RB presilencer, 2.5 piping to a RACTIVE fartcan w/the removable insert. I don't think it sounds bad at all...

Going to pickup a RB muffler next paycheck, hopefully that'll tone it down enough to not attract the police.

Am I being shitted or is that ticket really a moving violation...???

unfortunately his daughter had been driving it while her car was in the shop and she totaled it sometime last month. she got on the brakes alittle too hard and the rear came around and she backed it into a ditch that had a concrete pipe going under the driveway that she almost missed taking a friend home. were in the process of stripping it. his id here is rgood2b. i've told him he should sell some parts here but don't know what he's going to do except keep the engine and tranny and i'm getting the suspension to put on mine. i'll get him to take a pic of the exhaust since it's off the car now and post them.

Its not the exhaust, its your poor sound insulation in the 7.

BTW WTF

I got a ticket for modified exhaust with my 7, I took it to court saying that it was a stock replacement, and it got thrown out.

The cop told me anything other than Stock is considered modified.

This is in my opinion the quietest out there! If this is too loud on your car you will need a lot of work to keep it quiet... maybe run even more presilencers. I LOVE how quiet this system is compared to the RB street header/test pipe/RB rear section combo. I swear this is like the quietest car at the autoxes short of the occasional stock honda fits that show up...

back from the dead thread.
I see alot of people post the they are using Racing Beat mufflers and presilencers.
Has any one ever use there 3" universal presilencer and 3" universal muffler?
I was thinking of running (2) 2" pipes from the header to a 2" to 3" "Y" and putting a 3" rb presilencer right before the rear axle and the a 3" pipe under the axle to a 3" universal rb muffler. i think I will have to run it under the axle because I have the adjustable panhard rod on the back I canned the watts link years ago.

The 79-80's arent setup to run a cat.
They use a thermal reactor system to burn off HC's without any catylizing elements. The reactor requires different fuel/air ratios and different air routing,so just replacing the heat exchanger with a cat wont work well.....at least not for long.
The best way to upgrade a smog controlled 79-80 is to upgrade to the 81-85 smog control gear.Youll get a better ignition system,a leaner running carb that gets you better milage, youll shave almost 70lbs off the car by ditching the thermal reactor and air heat exchange system, and youll be running an exhaust system that is common and conventional, unlike the nearly obsolete system found on the old school rotaries and 79-80 RX-7's.
