Angry What the hell????

Why is a gas tank for the 81-83 rx7 so expensive. I'm looking at a car right now, but it needs a gas tank.

Maybe the better question would be "why are auto parts so expensive" - the answer.... because thats where the money is in the automotive industry. Mark up on new cars is squat - gotta get it somewhere. Ever priced out a new ignitor? Try and convince me that thing is worth hundreds of $'s

Find one in good condition at the junk yard (or maybe even yours?), and POR-15 restore it. I hear good things about that stuff.

I'm talking about the 81-83 specifically. Why is it $900 from mazdatrix while the rest are under $400?

What is this POR-15 stuff anyway? Does it fill holes in the tank and is resistant to gas or something?
