What Gauge Size fits in the Dash Vents?
When/if i get that 13bt TII motor, i'm gonna want a boost gauge, and i want to mount it in the driver side heater vent... like RotorMotorDriver did.
what size gauge fits in there, and what was necessary to do it.

I actually dont even know what size mine is, sorry...
When I did it, I just took a spare stock vent thingy (the air director), and broke out all the middle pieces so it was just the outter ring. Then, the ring snaps back into the vent, and the gauge wedges in the ring just fine. My gauge required me to break the "+" shaped thing (probably another air director) at the end of the vent duct (youll see it when you take the air director out). I needed to break this out because the back of the gauge would hit it when put into the vent, thus, it wouldnt let the gauge sit all the way in the vent. I just used pliers to break it out, as well as break apart the air director for the gauge to sit in. For the wiring and the oil feed (mines an oil PSI gauge), I just cut a "+" in the left most side of the heater duct a few inches down the duct (so it would be past the end of the gauge after the gauge was in the duct), so I could route wires and the oil line through there. This way, I can take off the two phillips head screws on the end of the dash and take that panel off which kinda helps in routing the wires and oil feed. From there, the oil line goes down over the fuse box, CPU, etc, and out the stock gromet for the main wiring harness out into the engine bay.
I hope that helps you some at least. I can try and reword anything you might not understand. Feel free to ask any questions.

i understand that all perfectly, makes sense. I dont even have the heater ducting installed up to those vents, i only use the "heat" setting (floor) and the defroster anyway.
is it a 2 1/16 or 2 5/8 cause those are the only sizes that would even come close, and those are standard sizes.

I just installed a 2-5/8"s Autometer in the vent last week. I popped the plastic thing out and cut out the ring that surrounds the hole. When I installed the gauge I used the cardboard protector ring that comes with the gauge in the box. Cut that into a half circle and slipped it over the bottom. Holds the gauge really snug.
