Gold flakes is a bad idea IMHO. Unless you're gong to install hydraulics/airbags, dayton wire rims and a fuzzy dice hanging in the rear view mirror, then maybe. But for that set-up, you may as well get an 60's Impala.

Most modern colors do not go well with the 1st gen body style. It's more of a "Keep it simple" color scheme.

My 1st 7 which was a 83 GSL was the original brown color and looked very nice. I don't have a scanner to copy the photo but will try and take a decent photo with my digital camera so you can get an idea.

Stay away from the loud colors.

There is a 1st gen that color already (orange) or close to it and that thing looks beautiful. We all have our own opinions but I seen 1st gens from PR and Australia w/ some color on them that really look great.

you know what I'm going to surprise everybody...I am going to leave it with my friend that owns the shop and tell him SURPRISE ME...paint it like its your seven...(good thing too because he wants one so bad but cant because he has to many projects as well so I always let him take it for a ride on the weekends when ever I go in the garage). he does great work, he always going local dealer ship cars..such as MAZDA, BMW, Honda you name it he has them evryday and of course high priced jobs...so I feel confident with who I am leaving it with. Today I am dropping off the new family addition (AWD Subaru legacy wagon) has a little rust spot and minor dings I want to get done before I give it to my wife to drive..the 2001 XL-7 is wasting alot of gas for the driving that she does.So I amgetting rid of my toyota pickup and keeping the XL-7. So in the meantime I will heep looking for colors that I like and see if we all can agree.

I have a brown/brown, GSL that I'm sitting on as a replacement for when I get rid of my 2nd gen DD. I didn't like the color at first, but it's grown on me. Once I pull it out of storage, it will get the oem color after the body work. It's alo getting the 4 piece Kaminari kit I have stashed.

Browns are an odd color and they aren't seen very ften. It's also a good color not to get noticed in when playing. LOL

what do you think of those e-bay poly kits, I want to put a kit on but do not want to mess with fiberglass.
