Engine conversion, fine. Rebody, fine. but fibreglass bondo'ed onto stock sheetmetal and overtop of glass just ads weight.

 

rx7 have to stay rotary.. in my opinion!

 

i have to agree with the not rotor not a rx-7, but i have to say those are the best looking v8-convs ive ever seen, if i had tons of cash, i would have one of those with a 4 rotor hahahaha

 

kick *** body kit! not a big fan of those tail lights though.

If only they sold the body kits seperatly. . . . . . . .

The look isn't bad per se, however, removal of a rotary bastardizes that which makes them unique. As said by others, putting an effin chevy in there is sickening. Do a TII swap and get better HP at lower weight and smoke these soulless creatures whenever possible.

What's the point??? Look at the cars, and well, they look rather proffesionaly build. So, they cannot be cheap. Now why on earth put loads of money into something like that??? If you'd go that far in a conversion, wouldn't it be easier/cheaper to have a complete kitcar? Those things aren't Sevens anymore, so why would you use a seven as a donor? Personally I can't say I like the looks, but that's taste. But if you want a car looking like this, it must simply be easier to get a full kitcar. After all, nothings left of the RX7 anyway. No rotary, and not the looks. Also, I think they look to much like wanna-be-corvettes.
And, again: V8's in in RX's are a crime! The "R" does stand for ROTARY, remember !?

will someone go to that guys shop and burn it down? what a waste of a perfectly good rx7. the v8 I can handle, but that abomination of a body kit makes me wanna jump off a bridge.

^^^^^ I dance w/ out music. I agree w/ everyone who said that it isn't an rx anymore. But if you search the site theres one on there w/ a 406! I hate the bodykit, but i just wanted to see what kinda reaction i would get.

 

i like the wide body kit, i like the 315/35-17 and whatever does have in the front but i dont like V8, corvettes tail lites side pipes and viper stile front end, looks discusting in a rx7

 

i agree. thast not a seven.. although, i think the v8 thing is sevens are cool... i HATE that kit.. ive seen it before.. and i closed the window.. i couldnt stand looking at something that ******* nasty. its not a seven.. at all.. the kit throws it way off, i dont think anyone would notice it was a 1st gen if they didnt get directed from here and only saw the picture.. its a disgrace..

Anyone ever thought of what putting a V-8 in a 7 does to the weight distribution?
That was the problem with the Sunbeam Tiger, too much weight over the front wheels. The little Alpine with it's puny motor handled much better.

I just think it's funny how they cut/box the firewall to fit the HEI distributor in there Why not just go to the 1987+ style (smaller diameter). Typical... And all that adding the camaro strut and rear end crap, wtf are they gaining there?!
