The distributer cap is labeled T1, L1, T2, L2. This is not in order, just letting you know its labeled. Match it up with the info below.

Facing the spark plug side of the motor

The top two plugs from left to rights are...

| T1 |-------| T2 |

Two bottom ones are...

| L1 |-------| L2 |

hope that helps

Ok we have them matched up but the engine still wont fire. On both rotors the rpm gauge is dancing again.. It was running then all of the sudden it wont run anymore could we have the wrong spark plugs or something?

looky here for spark plug info. Also did you swap the coil wires by accident, if you did switch them back.

180 out doesn't matter on a rotary. The plugs fire every revolution, not every other revolution.

Are we talking about distributor phasing or engine position? It can be 90° off or 180° off, or something.

Well we switched everything back to normal. The car will not start! If we use hot shot starter it will start then die... It seems like it isnt getting gas. I ran it for awhile before at around 3000rpms but the engine was missing and wouldnt idle then after we tinkered with it and put everything back it wont START. Even if we did get it to start it would still be missing... Im about ready to sell it and get a dumb honda civic or something that actually runs...

Is the fuel pump running as soon as you put the key switch in the on position, for a few seconds? is the rpm guage still working when cranking?
