What the difference (performance & sound) between the "streetable" & "road race" head

Hey Fellow 7-heads! I am considering a header for a street 13B 6 port, and been looking at the Racing Beat versions. Does anyone know what is the difference between the "streetable" & "road race" headers? I'm looking for difference in performance & the sound/volume of the exhaust.

Thanks!

I believe the "streetable" collects at the end while the road race stays as 2 seperate pipes or uncollected

Thats all i can contribute sorry.

The street setup collects at the end of the header, while the roadrace setup collects at the rear axle. Either will help with performance, but the RR setup will give a little more, especially in the upper RPM range. Neither of these systems are perfect, but they are a far cry better than stock.
The street setup requires reusing or acquiring a new mid pipe, while the RR system is complete, from engine to rear bumper.

Sound wise, I believe the RR system is louder than the street system. Both are louder than stock. They're both quieter than my current system, though. (RB street header and a single straight thru stainless muffler)

I am surprised that you guys are using a RB header straight thru to a muffler. I have been told many times that the systems are way too unbearable to use without some sort of pre-silencer.

I have an RB presilencer to fit, but I haven't installed it yet, due to the low ground clearence of my car. New suspension is sitting in my living room, will be installed soon, as will the presilencer.

the street port system is deeper pitched, and more pulsey, at low rpms

I run the Road Race header with a collector on the end straight thru to the RB power pulse muffler. Defintely not loud at all just cruising thru town but once you open the secondaries, she wails.

I've got the RB "Street Port" system from engine to muffler tip. It's an awesome system. It's already been covered but the only difference between the two headers is that one collects and one does not. So your purchase choice should just be based on whether you're building a single or dual pipe system.

You're right that without the pre-silencer *and* the muffler, any exhaust system on a rotary will sound like crap. It's the combination of the presilencer and the Power Pulse muffler that both removes the tinny sound and creates a more bassy note in the exhaust.

I find the Street Port exhaust to be quite good on the volume level. Cruising around town it doesn't turn people's heads (translation: cops ignore me) but when I open it up and crank it into my Sterling's secondaries and drive it to redline, the exhaust lets out enough that it sounds powerfully awesome. I haven't noticed an appreciable difference in sound between the Single and the Street Port exhaust systems from RB, though there's definitely a performance difference, but it's probably only really measurable on the dyno. (Feels good to the butt-dyno though)

The Racing Beat (Power Pulse) presilencers don't do a lot for noise reduction. They just make it sound better.
