I have a pair of rotors for the 13B I'm building to go into my 1st gen and they have some crusty carbon build-up on them. What is the best stuff to use to clean that off?
Also, what is the best stuff to clean the rotor housings, center plate and front & rear covers so that I can paint the outside of the engine. The machined surfaces are shinning, but outsides are kinda dull.
Thanks for any help
(Yes I did search but I only found 1 thread related to this)

A good old fashioned Varsol dip followed by a steam cleaning works wonders. The new eco-friendly stuff only works about 1/4 as well in practice.
Just don't let the parts sit in the steam cleaner once they're done. Take 'em out and they'll dry in seconds. Leave 'em in and their surfaces will oxidize.
