What is the cheapest clutch you guys have found?
The title tells all!
In my other thread Here you can read that i think my clutch is bad.
1 - Do you guys think from the problem my other thread that my clutch is definatly bad?
2 - what part is most likely bad/worn(clutch noob herer)
3 - I was wondering what the absolute cheapest clutch is(im not looking to get flamed cuz i want a cheap cltuch, just wondering my options)

well i got my centerforce dual friction kit for 200 bucks new. but my good friend owns a performance shop i would imagine though, that you could get it pretty cheap still, and it's a good clutch for upgrades. if you are just looking for stock shiznit, then hit up ebay. you'll find the daiken clutch kit reaaaaaal cheap.

I did one of the several cardinal sins when I changed my clutch last time. but I did the pros and cons and for only 6 monthes of driving time that I felt I had left on this engine. I just purchased a remanufactured disk from advanced auto for 25.00 and put it in. I did check the other components cleaned and greased them.
flame me all you want. but it works.
I have a 1980 engine in my 1985 car right now. I have the original engine in the closet awaiting a rebuild/porting. Since the 80 and 85 clutches are different I didn't see any point in buying a performance clutch for a temp engine.

just the disk. this was the cheapest to get the car going down the road. how long it will last????? Dont know, at least six monthes till I start and finish the rebuild and buy an expensive clutch. I have been driving two weeks now with no problems with the clutch.

i replaced my disc twice with an advanced auto disc(25 bucks or so). It felt fine but as soon as i snatched second gear it was gone. i went through 2 discs this way before i finally bought the whole kit from rx7.com, which has been badass so far, 200 bucks and grabs great. I think if you just take it easy it will probably be fine.

i have the same clutch that came in my car 85 gs, i need to replace it soon...but why go cheap? If you are planning on keeping the car for a while why not at least get something that will last?

A new disc, pressure plate, throwout & piolt bearing, and clutch alingment tool cost ~ $160 at advanced auto. This was for a GSL-SE, but I would expect a 12A to cost around the same.
Oh, and its seems to be holding up pretty well right now, but its only got a few hundred miles on it.
