AR What CFM electric fan?

I built a fiberglass shroud to run a 14" electric fan, just wondering what CFM are yall running? Looking at 1900-2200 CFM fans right now.

i dont know the exact #s, but im running the big single OE 2 spd ford Taurus fan. Ive seen "tested" claims of 2800cfm low/5600cfm high @ bat voltage, and 3200cfm low/6000cfm @ alternator voltage.

i just have it wired to low speed only via a manually operated switch/relay combo

Yeah, I wheel and deal with Taurus fans(probably sold 15 of them lol). I rock crawl and they are a pretty common swap. Most guys I know with them never even use the high speed.

I made the shroud and want to stick to a 14" fan. I would think 2200cfm would be plenty. Just making sure.

well, ive never come close to overheating running just the low speed , so i think 2200cfm should be up for the task, unless you have a huge turbo, inadequate radiator and terrible heat shielding. :P

most people dont use the high setting for 2 reasons. no need, and/or the cost of running a dual relay circuit in parallel (i.e. 2x as expensive to wire) for the high speed

I'm running a 14" 1800 CFM fan right now in my car and its cooling it well enough.

Pic of the fan

Pic of the fan installed

Pic of the fail safe rocker switch installed - with much DIY done

I have a water temp gauge with the sensor right outside the thermostat and I haven't seen this setup run above 185 or 190 since it's been installed. So I'm pretty satisfied with it

I have a vented hood, so that should help with heat issues also.
The fan will be blowing a lot of the heat from the radiator out, when stopped.
