What I got for $300... My new SA
Well as usually one night I was up at 2:00 am in the morning searching the Rx7 club forum when the server started acting up so I decided to go look on Craigslist. Well I see this add that was just posted an hour earlier. The add was for a 1980 Rx7 with Dual Weber carbs and 15x7 rims with a Blown motor. He was asking $300 so I immediately emailed him because regardless what rims where on the car or even if it was a single Weber I would still be getting a good buy.
Well I got up early the next morning waiting for him to reply or call me back. I gave him my cell and since the add said it was in Concord about 20 min away from my house I decided to head out that way and go help Dwarf work on his car while I waited for the guys call me.
Well time went by and its now 11:00 am so I figure it would be a descent time to call about the car. He picks up and I we talk blah blah blah........ Come to find out the car was only 5 minutes from my house so I go check it out. When I first saw the car it had:
Xenon Victoria British front spoiler
Some 15x7 Wheels I didn't recognize
Ground Control Coilovers Eibach Springs up front Rear springs and shocks unknown
RB Front & rear sway
Some home made vented hood
Dual Weber carbs
RB header flange to homemade header 2.25 pipe to a pre silencer to what I think is the stock muffler
Holley FPR
Carter Fuel Pump
SS Braided Brake and clutch lines
Optima Red Top
Glass Sunroof
Drum brakes w/lsd installed
SO first I asked if the $300 was a typo and he said no so of course I bought it.
The bad.
When I got the car home I starting making a list of all the bad things about the car because my original plan was to just part it out. There used to be a spoiler on the car but it was removed and none of the whole where covers. This was back in January so we where getting tons of rain the seat belts where covered in mold, you could not even see the seat belt under it. The complete rear interior is gone and there are no door panels. The floor is sopping wet and the car stinks from all the mold and the dash is cracked. No heater or A/C. The key falls out of the ignition in the on position.
The molding where shaved off of the passenger side and the crease patched over but the drivers side was left alone. All of the key locks where replaced with what looks like bike locks. The car had obviously been in an accident because there is an FB bumper in place of the SA rear and the gas tank is also from an FB. There is also some bondo around the rear glass. The wheel look like he tried to sand them down but never finished. And parts of the car have been painted rattlecan style. Dented header panel and broken front turn signals. The car looks real shitty but you get what you pay for.
Oh well I think I got my moneys worth. I have started to tear apart the car. Here are some pics

$300?
Why the ******* hell aren't there deals like that where I live?
Congrats on the purchase dude, you totally made off like a bandit on this one. The carbs alone can net you twice the purchase price.

Thanks for all the interest in the parts but I guess I did not mention that I am not going to part it out right away. I have another project car comming so I am just going to get a motor from the junk yard and throw it in so I can drive it around till im done with the other project.
I have the Intake Manifold off and it looks like the motor was street ported or at least the intake was port matched. And I also took off the cover that lets you see the clutch and im prettty sure its not a stock flywheel . We'll see if its a lightend one when I get an engine hoist to pull the motor.
Motor waiting to be pulled
Anybody recognize this little thunderbird symbol on the flywheel?
Thanks everyone for looking!!!!

That's exactly what it is a piece of **** but they did try and I'm sure it was better than stock. But on the other hand that's still no reason for it to look how it does.
I will show the complete exhaust when I get it out the car. I'm sure everyone will have a good laugh. There is a lot of crappy workmanship on the car but a lot of effort so I cant be too mad.

Well I dont really plan on spending a ton of money on it at the most $500 and this car in no way will be a show queen. And I will do all the work my self.
This is my other baby Roxxane so im not to worried about getting that SA in great shape I just want it running. Not the greatest pics but you can see what it is.
