Junia and eddierotary are right, clarion is alive and well, and they make pretty good stuff too. Nothing like my Boston Proseries Acoustics, but alive and kicking. As for the stock amps, they are a joke. People, when our cars came out, amps and stereo systems were just coming in teh mainstream world. Most cars these days don't even have stock amps except the internal ones in their head units just because it is cheap, the fact that the rx-7 had them in the early 1980's should give you an idea of how good they are.
As for the sound system? Replace everything down to those skinny 124 gauge speaker wires. To give you all an idea, if you took out ur stock front (fronts i know, but maybe rears as well) 4 inch speaker and looked on the back of it, you would see: "10W". Yes 10 watts people.
Also, its easy to not see the stock amps, because they are so small, but they are on the inside wall of the storage box.
