It's a sports car, not a truck!
But I've had to haul some odd stuff in the past.
Lumber, TV and appliances.
also,
What's the most number of people that can fit uncomfortably in the RX7?

let's see... i moved from TX to FL in one carload. that hatchback is bigger than it looks! i hauled my old 27 inch tv back there. perfect fit and room to spare behind it. as far as people cramming goes, 5 people max in my old 79. 3 in the front and a couple in the back, who were making out next to the 2 12 inch subs. the sub box was huge, so i'm sure you could fit an extra person there if you needed to. why does practical mean it has to have a back seat? i think my car is pretty darn practical!
bravo rotorhead.. i was actually thinking about trying to fabricate a middle seat in the back, with small storage bucks on either side, to be able to leagaly hold a third.. pittd's idea of course, so kudos to you.
. but i would never consider the seven to be unpracticle.. i may pack up and move to massachusetts in january, and am hoping to just take one trip in the seven...

I've hauled my Marshall guitar amp around before...it would take up the whole hatch in my 88 GXL.
I've had 6 people in my car at one time...don't ask. It was horrible!

My friend, who purchased my second gen, had 8 people in the car at once. As for my current 84 GS, it has completely no interior, the passenger side is bare firewall, and is very spacious. However, due to the fact that I am weight reducing, I won't be using this space either.

Lets see....well most of my friends are big football players, but there was me, a big friend, and two girls in the front seat. Let me remind you miy car is a standard... reverse was kinda fun...hehehe.. and one time coming back from a football game it was me, my bro was hanging out the hatch, one of his friends, and 2 other girls. Once again...reverse was fun..:p
hey riffraff, check into some of the australian sites for sevens. apparantly, lots of sevens in au and nz came with a backseat. as far as people cramming goes, i had lots of practice in high school. i started with my 81 datsun 310
it's a little smaller than a ford escort. 10 people, 4 in front, 4 in back seat, 2 in the hatch. the tires were so squashed, it felt like i was driving a hovercraft! then there was the 85 fiero, 5 people: me & my best friend, and 3 hot girls!
good thing it had a sunroof because that car was overflowing with folks!

I guess I can get in line with all the wierd stuff hauled. I have hauled a refrigerator, 4 people, lumber, lawnmowers, shelving units etc.
I think I need to get a truck as a 2nd vehicle.

Best i've done is me driving, my friend in the passenger seat, a girl sitting in his lap, another sitting on the center storage pocket with her legs over my lap, and three more girls sitting in the trunk, coming home from the clubs at 3:30am. The car really didn't like carrying that many people but it was sooooooo worth it........ahh, good times.....goodtimes

I did a "full" family shop at Costco then stopped and bought a new computer, monitor and fax machine on the way home...almost had to "tip" the guy at Staples a 12 pack of paper towel 'cos it wasn't going to fit...but it did!
I've also hauled 5 shelf bookcases and since I'm moving in a week, I imagine I'll be stuffing just about anything I can into my 84 GSL SE.
In Northern Saskatchewan a few months ago, I ran into an adorable 84 GSL SE that was full of power saws...talked to the guy and he was going cutting/hauling firewood in it! I told him I thought that was a dreadful way to treat that particular car - he didn't know a thing about RX7's so didn't care until I told him it was actually worth a buck or two!
