what is the best way to spend $1000
i want my 1984 gs to run 15s in my car. what are some of the best thing that dont cost way to much. also my car has to pass smog here in las vegas (i hate that). So all of the smog stuff has to stay.
So far i have an
83 gsl engine
some interaor removed about 100lb
cherry bomb
lsd w/ disc brakes
with just this and ok driving skills what would i run in 1/4 mile or 0-60mph?
here is a pic of my car got her for an auction for $350
with a kiss of death oil leal on an engine with only 93k

damn emmisions killed any chances of ti being a daily driver and a drager. best way is a turbo blow through and you would have to do alot of work to do that. how do you like vegas i am thinking of moving out there. right now i am trying to get my streetport back together,,

hey it pretty cool out here but its lik 117 dergees out side so working on my car is out of the question until 9 pm at night. SO the emmisions really hurt you that bad. I thought they jsut clutered up your engine. What time do you think i could pull out of a stripped out rx7 with a header and a straight pipe?

las vegas kinda suck due to it being 117 out side so i cant work on my 7. Plus you have to be smoged every year that SUCKS. Im going to try to get an rb header and a y in the exhaust so i can run straight pipe and turn a lever and then have the regular exhaust

is the engine ported already? do u plan on making it last or just want to get the 15?
my suggestion:
exaust (new cat more than anything)
take out stuff u dont need (passenger seat, wheel and stuff before goin to track)
some stiffer springs and shocks in back
eletric fan
tires (slicks if u can afford it)
13b -se engine (ya can be cheap if you know where to look )
then if all else fails 50 n2o shot, it'll only be one pass thou.. lol
you're biggest problem, like mine, is the engine needs to pass smog, so there goes a bunch of stuff, good luck to you

it's not all that much work to install the smog equipment for the once a year smog check. Can be done in an afternoon no prob. Just package everything in ziplock bags and tape the exhaust holes closed when storing.
then 364 days of the year you can drive with a big carb and good exhaust.
wide sticky tires would be a good bang for the buck. 205/50/15 or even 215/45/13 on a 13x8" rim would be good and wide as well as short which helps gearing and lowers the car too. Very reasonably priced.
Sumitomo HTR 200 (High Performance)
Size: 215/50HR13 Blackwall
HR Speed Rated Price: $45
Estimated Availability: In Stock

Actually, for the drag strip, worn out stock shocks and springs in the rear would be better... the almighty weight-transfer is much easier with soft suspension...

I'm going to say full Streetport RB exhaust and a set of Sumitomo tires. I've got the tires, and they rock. I'm still waiting on the exhaust, but we all know that it's the be-all and end-all of RX-7 exhaust systems.

Anyway... With 1000 bucks you can get the RB full exhaust system and a sterling hot rodded carb. If you port, chances are you'll need a rebuild kit, depending on your situation (kits can be expensive). These are just my opinions though....

You could always just send me the money...Im sure I could find a good use for it .

EDIT: I guess I could tell you what I would buy with it...lol
I would probably get a set of Eibach springs, some Tokico Illuminas, and a polyurethane bushing kit, plus whatever other little misc bushings I might need for the suspension. If you do it right, that might come in under $1000.
