I am also looking at the tokico advanced handling kit from RX-7.com

$640 for illumina shocks and springs.
Tokico stopped making the springs, there was a blow-out sale where they were going for $75 bucks.

The Tokico spings also do not fit quite right on the 84/85 models.

Another reason I ordered Eibach.

Go to Shox.com for everything you need.

This is a quote from
http://www.ground-control.com/index.html
As you can see GC does say Eibach racing rear springs have five dead coils for custom ride height adjustment by cutting. I think most people think of the Pro Kit when they think of Eibach springs for the 1st Gen, and those don't have these dead coils from what I can see...

Racing rear springs

Racing rear springs
All of our rear springs are made exclusively for us, but the most popular by far is made by Eibach as a 175 lbs./in. rear spring. This is a very clever design that allows fine tuning of the rear ride height by trimming (if necessary) any of the five “dead” coils at the upper end of the spring. These five coils are not active when the car is on the ground (hence the term “dead”), so the spring rate is virtually unaffected by the trimming. These five coils do however create preload when the car is jacked up, so we have also solved the problem of loose rear springs when working on the car.

ive got trimmed ST springs and tokico blues all around. The ride is extra stiff/rough due to the trimming, but it handles better than when i had the stock springs.

Question Auto-X spring setup

Could I get some opinions from experienced auto-x people/drivers. I am upgrading my stock springs, and shocks/struts soon (July), and I have mostly decided on the following setup:

Front Springs: 175lbs./in. 2 1/2 I.D. race springs
using coil over kit from Ground Control
Rear Springs: 150 lbs./in. Eibach Racing Springs

Shocks/Struts: Tokico "Illumina 5"

Plus Ground Control Camber plates for adjustability.

THis should lower the car 1" front, and I'm wanting to lower the rear 1.5" for more of a level stance. Does that sound like a good combo for auto-x? Too stiff? Just right?

here...

http://www.ground-control.com/gcrx7cat.htm

Scroll down past the middle to where it says Replacement rear springs...

Or go to http://www.ground-control.com and click on catalogs, and then 1st Generation.

I just called Ground Control and they recommended using a 300lb spring in the front and a 250 in the rear for my 84 GSL-SE. Why so much higher that ST, RB, and Eibach? I told them i was just setting it up for auto-x.

Avoid having the rear of the car higher than the front. The rear should sit approximately 10mm lower otherwise the front and rear roll centres will be out of wack.

RX7.com used to sponsor me, they sell a nice package! That package is a good street/autocross combo.

i've got a set i'm looking to get rid of. i don't know what kind they are...i know they are blue. if anyone is interested in trading for some unwanted racing beat springs email me..spoolin7@midsouth.rr.com. these springs lower the car too much in my opinion....i got them from a local shop off a race car. will sell if no one is interested in trading, but would like to trade first.

If you lower it that much you won't have any suspension travel left. You'll be hitting the bump stops constantly and probably wreck the shocks. Not to mention it will handle like ****. But hey, if you wanna sacrifice performance for aesthetics don't let me stop you.

Maybe he could just weld the shocks so you would have no suspension movement. I'd be like a go kart!
