Among poor first gen owners, mostly high school and college students? I think 11's is pretty strong for a street car on STREET TIRES, not drag radials. 10's isn't exactly something to scoff at given the budget constraints....

I'm a junior in college, I don't make much money. I have maybe $6000 in my nova since I bought the car when I was 15 years old.

How much $$$ do you have in your car cookie-man?

My friend's Chevelle Laguna gets 12's. . . . and the MPG is UNDER 12 on the freeway. It's also a dog on anything but the strip.

My seven gets low 15's. Get's 20 MPG average. FUN EVERYWHERE.

Right, I'm not arguing that the rx7 is a poor choice in automobiles. I have one that I drive everyday lol. It gets pretty good mileage, handles well, is easy to park in the city, girls think it's "cute," blah, blah blah.....

just noting that they aren't the easiest car to run a number with.

^^It's actually rather easy compared to building a piston motor. Peripheral Port and a big turbo will eat a piston motor alive that's blown and alcohol injected

Reaction --- 1.2988
60 ft -------- 2.4542
330ft ------- 6.9752
1/8 ET ----- 10.6950
1/4 ET ----- 16.4752
1/4 KPH --- 125.30

So that was first run and lots of wheel spin in first and second gear. The second run I think that I blew my clutch ... It wasn't hooking up with the transmission and I smelt like rotten eggs smell. so thats when i knew I had to slow down and stop racing. Well I guess thats what happens when you drag race with a 22 year old clutch. So with all this stuff in account I recon I could be in around the low 14's or so ... plus I had all my bins filled up with my tools my work clothes, the 2 sunroofs, so definetly had too much weight in there too.

Let me guess a mustang handed your *** to you

There is a vid of an green early RX in Austraila that pulled wheelies in the first 3 gears until he installed wheel bars. That Mustang doesn't even come close. Sorry, don't have the link handy.

Well as long as you don't go posting that Mustang's are the greatest cars ever made and that rotaries suck and 5.0's are god or whatever, I don't care. I've seen street RX-7's on street tires pull bus lengths on Mustang's. It's all about how the car is built

More on topic, dj55b, you just need to work on your driving. My 02 olds alero managed a 16.4 @84mph my first day out, mind you that was my 8th run or so out of 13. I know it had more in it too, mabey a 16.2, the MPH suggests so anyway. I ran an early 90's integra LS that day, he did 16.2 @ 82mph, so I was actually going faster at the finish line. Its my 60ft that always hurt me, couldn't launch worth ****.

Oh ya, just so you know, my Alero is ~3000lb and has ~150hp at the flywheel going through a 5 speed manual.

Actually it was a pretty done up pontiac formula one ... but i didn't care ... like i said before i know that I've screwed up but i'll make a trip down there again to get some better numbers hopefully.

And like i said in there too, i missed a gear in that run and I really didn't know where my exact power band sat at. But now that i've dynoed the car, i should do better, from my graph shifting at about 7,400k should about do it.

Your 1/8th mile times are midway between my 2nd gen NA with headers and the 1st gen with headers and Mikuni, before the widebody. 10.01 for the 2nd gen, non-lsd with wheel hop, 11.2/3 for the 1st gen, with lsd and old near stock sized tires, chirping 3rd gear.

You mean like this?

If you people watch very carefully, you can see a mustang for about 1/10th of a sec
