Went autoxing today.....
And let me set the record for a holley carb and turns. It's just a piece of ****. Holley carb on a 7 is made for drag racing. I've got the RB Holley SP setup. Every corner, the carb would cut out, and the engine would spit and sputter. Fuel pressure was at 6 psi, and there was better than a half tank of gas. Yet another reason why I'm on the list for a Sterling. Don't buy a Holley if you plan on autox or road course. If you're going to drag race only, have at it.
Also, if you look at the primary bowl on the RB Holley carb, there's a little hole at the top of the carb with a little circular "blank" hovering above it. You hit the gas a little bit, and the blank comes down and seals the hole. Well, (and this has happened) what happens when your brand new float sticks open? Gas pours all over your nice and hot RB SP headers. How convienent. Lucky for me, it just evaporated and didn't explode.
I just can't see the reason for anyone to waste money on this setup for the twisties. I've had nothing but trouble with this setup. Just my $0.02.
