Its pretty easy with a torch, just get them so hot that they literally melt out of the control arm, takes like 5 minutes per bushing. Just clean the arm up real good when its cooled down and off you go.

Problem is, I don't have a torch. I guess it's off to Home Depot.

just use a couple of matches...only takes a couple minutes longer than a torch...if you know someone who has an ascedaline torch...could probably do them all in 5 minutes...

I spent two days trying to pull the control arms off of my parts car. I tried a torch, I tried pressing them out with a big-assed C-clamp, tried the old big F'n Hammer. You name it, I tried it.

In the end, I spent thirty bucks at Home Depot for a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder with a cutoff wheel. I sliced through the bolts (in between the A-arm and the Frame) in about five minutes. Yeah, I have to replace the bolts. But compared to the trouble I saved, I say its worth it. If I had done this first, I would have saved two days of my time.

Matches? lol how about a magnifying glass and the sun? or light a cigar and use it to poke the bushings out?

Just buy a $20 propane torch.

putting Poly bushings in? If so, put some dry silicone lubricant on 'em to prevent squeaks. The wet stuff will attract road dirt and make a sandpaper paste that'll chew through them

I'm not looking forward to it. Let me know how it goes, and how you like the bushings. Thats coming up quick on my list of things to do. Right after tuning my carb and removing the A/C.

It's actually not that bad. Propane torch is definitely the way to go.
