well what is direst fire ignition?

well i have a 12A iw ant to add some horse's a freind is selling me an intake which i suppose to be bigger it off a 79 12A need help should i buy it or what.

direct fire is where you stop using the distributor for the leading igniton and run one coil for each plug.

I wont go into detail.

do a SEARCH.

actually, a true direct fire system would have one coil for each plug (this four coils).
but we cannot seem to do that , so the best that can be done is just doing the leading side, per 82streetracer's comment
