Doesn't sound good. My SA did the same thing. It tossed an apex on the rear rotor causing 0 compression on the rear. It still drove okay, just had no power at all. Did you try cranking with a plug out on the rear rotor and listen for the 'puffs'?

Do you have a place to work on it where you live? I ended up using a wrecking yard engine in the SA. Didn't take much time or tools to swap. Good luck.

in the junk yard here there's only 3 sa's and i'm really not sure on the condition of the engines they seem pretty rough. I did the compression check with an actual tester. So the readings have to be right.

Motor is deffinatly shot. I remember when my 12A ate one of the apex seals on me. It was during startup, of all times. Car was VERY low on power and had a very hard time idling, but it was drivable. Probably could have drove it for a while if I upped the idle on the carb to keep it running. Actually sounded kinda cool, somewhat like a 20B, if you can imagine that, just rougher sounding.

Most of the time, yes. As the apex bounces around in the rotor housing it can do a great amount of damage. I have a blown TII shortblock that I tore apart to find that all three apex seals were shattered on the rear rotor and the whole rear rotor and housing were garbage. There was gouges so deep you could see them from a distance, and there was actually an impression of a piece of an apex seal on the face of the rotor. If i had the piece it would have fit right in there.

My shop is just out side of Walkerton. Just go straight up Hwy 4 out of London until you hit Hwy 9, then I'm only 10mins from Hwy 4&9.

My shops called R.P.M. Rotary Performance and Maintenance

Enigine building is my specialty

No once the housings have major gouges in them...they are pretty much junk.

But if the housings have some scraping or the chrome surface is flaking off, then JHB can re-coat the housings with a Cermet coating. They work real good too. http://www.jhbperformance.com/

Have you built anyone's engine from this forum? I just want to see your work. How much do you charge for a 12 rebuild? Also how long does it usually take to rebuild?

Yes, I've built a few motors for forum members.
Send me an email to rx7_wankel@hotmail.com I'll send you some pics of porting and engine builds I've done before.
