Question weird noises....

first off.....my exhaust is making this raspy type noise and its really annoying. like not a real deep raspy, like, high pitched raspy.

secondly, my tranny is making a noise, that in gear, with the clutch in, and slowing down, it sounds like somthing is rattleing or scrapping like on the ground

this tranny noise started tonight. ive got the s4 transmisison. my exhaust is in my signature

the transmission noise: when im coasting with the clutch in, i put it in 2nd, and it makes the rattling, then i take it out of gear, and it stops. i would do this continuously and it did it every time.

ben,
check to see if the muffler tips are touching the bodywork under the back of the car. back when i owned it, and had the pacesetter on it, it have this raspy/rattling kind of noise. took forever to figure out that the tips were tapping on the lower rear valence. good job on the car, btw! keep it up!

hmmmm, that actually might be it. but i think its more likely to be the gasket that john has repositioned three times and every time it sounds great right after, but the starts sounding like **** after 10 minutes of driving.....but if its not that it might be the muffler hitting something.

by the way....im about to retire the rx7 to the garage because, its too cold, and the trasmission and clutch, from the fc are giving
