weird clutch problem

so when im at a stoplight or just idleing with it in gear (1st.) sometimes, it's almost like the clutch slips and catches the the engine becuase it gets stuck in gear. and when i take the brake off, it starts moving forward (while the clutch is all the way in) so when this happens i have to let it roll forward so it will let me out of gear. but sometimes it's not that easy. like when it gets stuck in reverse and i have nowhere to go. doesnt anyone know what this is?

You need to check for external fluid leaks, if the level of the fluid is not dropping, it would be a safe bet to say you have a bad clutch master cylinder. Since all the pieces in the hydralic system is probably the same age, I would replace the clutch MC, slave cylinder and rubber coated hose if you are planning to keep the car.
Or you can be a cheapskate and do it one piece at a time.

Here is why I think its the cluch master cylinder, the rubber cups that push the fluid that make pressure are not sealing good and fluid is leaking by (internally) hense your clutch is releasing as if you were lifting off the pedal.

It could also be a bad pilot bearing.
Check the clutch slave cylinder's operation visually. If it is consistently pushing the fork all the way back, it isn't the hydraulic system at all.

I'm betting on hydrolics, too. No one ever bleeds them, and they don't last forever.
