The weight of a 12a engine

Has anyone shipped a motor, I have a 12a for sale and I want to know the weight approximately.

It is a motor, with exhaust manifold, no carb and pretty much all other parts still installed clutch and flywheel also.

just wondering to give a shipping quote.

Only if you don't know the tricks. There was a vid posted not to long ago showing a young lady removing one and she was not beating it to death to get it off. One or two judiciously placed blows and they will pop right off. I have no problems removing them anymore, quite simple really. I modified a 2 bolt puller and most of the time the flywheel pops loose while I'm walking across the shop to find a hammer.

Flywheel weights are listed on the RB website.

A fully dressed long block will likely weigh at least 400lbs. I know for a fact that a shortblock without flywheel weighs about 180lbs.

^Which makes sense considering the stock flywheel weighs just over 20 lbs.

Sears, last time I priced one it was around 25 bucks. Bought mine at O'Riellys and got hosed for 45, with a friend's employee discount
