Weber jetting and tuning?
OK, I'm having some serious trouble setting up a DCOE 45mm on an '84 12B. First of all, does anyone have any idea what the ideal jets are for this thing? All the research I've done has lead me nowhere on that. Are there any other adjustments that might be helpful on this carb? Does it help to know that the manifold comes out straight from the block, not curved up and over like most I've seen? I've also heard that the highest point in the fuel system should be where the fuel line connects to the carb, but with my setup that would require some MAJOR adjustment. Any thoughts?
Also, this is a problem I was having before that carb... my exhaust manifold glows after about 5 minutes of running, even just at idle. My friend thinks I should check the rest of the exhaust system for blockages. It's not a stock system, it's Racing Beat.

Re: Weber jetting and tuning?
These are the settings on my Weber 45DCOE on a 12A Street Port with racing beat Intake, headers, presilencer, and prima flow muffler.
40mm Chokes
4.5 Auxiliary Venturies
Accelerator Pump Jet 50
Emulsion Tubes F11
Idle Jets 60F9
Main Jets 200
Air Corrector 185
Fuel Pressure 3.0psi
The stock fuel pump will not work....
What are your carburetor settings. What setting does it have now..?

That's the thing... I need to check what came stock in that thing, and just haven't had the chance yet. Webers are new to me, and I don't have any good literature on the disassembly of them. Do you know of any sites that might have some good info on that? I'd hate to screw the thing up, seeing as how it set me back a little.
Here is an exploded view of the Carburetor and the parts...

You need a high volume pump, not a high pressure. The fuel pressure according to the Weber book for side drafts is no more than 3.0 psi
I have mine setup between 2.5 and 3.0psi's
I have a Carter fuel pump...
The fuel pumb is not working properly could give you some fuel starvation...
