I have been wanting to put a carb hat on, cut down the oil fill pipe and then run a cone filter out infront of the rad like that.

Nice job Greg, makes me think of something similar for my Dellorto 48.
I sent you a email with the pics of the spoiler.

that looks funny! Does that long ducting reduce the "intake roar". I know when I run the blowthrough on my 50DCO, its very quiet, but when I run the weber with just air filter on the end, its quite noticable.

not bad but at the same time, very ghetto. I like my ramflo filter myself but maybe im just crazy... And as far as the intake noise goes why would you not want that? I love the roaring sound of it!

Those are the longest ram tubes I've ever seen in my life.

interesting, i can't say anything bad because my first intercooler pipes were pvc and they worked great that looks like the 2" pipes (which i think are 2.5" outter diameter right?) are you worried it might be creating a velocity disturbance? like... harder to suck the air thru two individual air filters rather than using one filter and one large pipe?

What exactly was the point of that? Did you just need some type of airfiler? I ran my weber with no airfilters for over 15k and when i took off my intake mani to port it there was absolutely no carbon build up in it at all. For something to get sucked into the carb it would have to travel directly in front of it and then take a hard left into the carb. and onl something small enough to get burned up will get sucked in. If you need an airfilter I found a few bug sites with very reasonable prices. Great job, but it looks a little too restrictive for my liking.

There's only a single filter, see the Y where the two pipes come into it at the end.

I know it makes things quieter buts it's also slightly more restrictive, but it does have longer tubes for the air going to the venturies so there may be some benefits.

Do you have any hard numbers to compare before or after?

Does this really improve DCOE type carb performance in some way ?

I can't see it helping top end that much but it may make low rpm better behaved. Give us some feedback once you've run with it for awhile.

Just had a thought, what if you took that under/around the battery and under the front bumper, then yoiu could get some coller rammed air into the mix. That might definitely be a plus.

what i was thinking was you could relocating the battery and setting it near a cut hole in your ratiator frame thingy. that or maybe putting it were the battery was and get a vented light lid, then cut a lil bit out of the light area metal. just some ideas, was thinking about doing it to mine.

okay heres my feedback on the intake setup, the reason i built this, is ive been running filterless for 4-5 months, not my idea of a good thing... this setup was dirt cheap. 12 bucks for the piping and an old cone i had. the low end torque gains are awesome, but the top end suffers. when i hit the track to race i just take this setup off, simple 2 hose clamps and its off. works good for street cruising, and provides filtered air. as far as intake noise (ricers! ) this thing is very deep from 1-5k, from 5-7.5k it makes the mose wicked screaming noise, ill try and get a video of it later... enjoy.

how much extra lowend did you get? %wise compared to with it just off the stacks? What RPM is this noticable, etc?

I just put some mesh over my mikuni. The actual filter I have is old and crappy, and I don't want to spend 160 bucks for a new K&N filter/assembly. I also love the sound to much to put a big pvc assembly on it =P

here is a video of the intake growl for the ricers this **** makes a honda with intake sound like a whisper, remember my exhaust at the moment is bone stock (gsl-se) with gutted cat, so 99 percent of the noise is my intake...
